What's the best job decision you ever made?
The best job decision I ever made was choosing to work at Startups.
My experiences at Unqork and now at Avantos.ai have pushed me to explore beyond traditional boundaries, igniting creativity and resilience. Playing varied roles has given me a holistic understanding of the many levers required to build and scale a business.
This versatile exposure not only honed my professional skills but also inspired me to pursue my passion initiative: founding PeertoPlay.com, a referral based platform designed to empower parents in curating and enhancing their children’s social experiences during their formative years. Our app is currently available on both Android and iPhone, and I hope that parents love the experience, as we take the mundane away from shuttling between social channels to coordinate playdates or give children a broader exposure of peer network to choose from.
Working at startups has been instrumental in shaping my entrepreneurial mindset and drive.
What is the most important lesson you have learned from a mistake you’ve made in the past?
Mistakes are an important aspect of your life, count does not matter. I take mistakes and achievements with the same stride as they are all part of the learning process. Own your mistakes, move on, and try to implement the learnings from it.
Do you have any productivity hacks? What keeps you motivated? How do you maintain a work/life balance?
Productivity Hacks:
Start with MITs (Most Important Tasks): Identify 2-3 key tasks each day that will have the most significant impact.
Follow the 80/20 Rule (Pareto Principle): Focus on the 20% of tasks that yield 80% of results
Make an effort to know your colleagues across different facets of the organization and don’t be afraid to ask for help!
Seek regular feedback and reflect on your goals and pivot quickly.
Clear your inbox before you go to bed
MOTIVATION: Family and a lot of travel keeps me motivated. Also being in a role where every day is a new day is thrilling and gives me the adrenaline rush!
BALANCE is overstated! It is not possible to have balance every day so gauge it on a holistic basis. One day the scale will be more tilted towards one side, the second day towards the other! Work at a place and with people who will help you strive for an overall balance and will support your life goals too!
